PROPOSAL FOR THE ASSIGNEMENT OF THE R1 RESEARCHER POSITION IN CONTROLS AND COMMUNICATIONS/PROJECT ENGINEER IN THE FIELD OF MICRO GRIDS AND SMART GRIDS

Controls and communications/Project engineer in the field of Micro Grids and Smart Grids:

Researcher position offered to work on technical research projects in the fields of controls and communications in microgrids and smart grids. The tasks to be carried out will be mainly focused to development of controls and communications systems in smart grids, electrical power systems, renewables, energy storage, electric mobility and grid integration applications.

This professional must be highly skilled in research projects including experimental and laboratory activities. Capacity to work in a team, flexible, innovative, with initiative and problem solving skills. High level of analytical and synthesis skills.

The professional is expected to lead research projects (competitive and industrial) in the microgrids and smart grids fields of activity and publish high-level articles.

Qualifications and experience required:

Essential:
MSc or PhD in telecommunications, electrical engineering or similar. Proven experience in controls and communications systems, control and design of microgrids and smart grids components and systems, their applications with renewable energy, energy storage systems, electric mobility, power transmission systems and grid integration. Proven experience in control and industrial/laboratory SCADA systems, communications systems and protocols, IT systems, programming platforms.  .

Preferred:
Experience in the energy sector: wind energy, renewable energy sources and, in particular, in control and design of electrical systems. Experience in modeling and simulation softwares (DigSilent, Matlab-Simulink or equivalent). Experience in international research collaborative projects and the execution of third party projects is desired.
Extended experience in industry and/or research centers or PhD with 6 months experience in research center or university different to the university where she/he has obtained her/his PhD. JCR Journal publications.

Language required:
Fluent in Spanish and English.

Salary:

Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
