The Solar Energy Materials and Systems Group (SEMS) announce an Experienced Researcher position in the frame of the QUARTCELL Project, in the research line of:

DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH EFFICIENCY CHALCOGENIDE THIN FILM PHOTOVOLTAIC CELLS ONTO CERAMIC SUBSTRATES

The candidate will carry out a multidisciplinary scientific activity centered in the synthesis and characterization of thin film chalcogenide absorbers based on chalcopyrites onto special ceramic substrates, as well as in the fabrication and characterization of high efficiency solar cells. This includes the synthesis and characterization of these materials by a sequential process (sputtering+reactive annealing), the optimization and characterization of the corresponding solar cell devices, and the detailed analysis of the impact of the substrate in comparison with conventional soda lime-glass.

The candidate will work in the frame of the Industrial Project QUARTCELL.

Requisites: the candidates need to be in position of the PhD Diploma in Physic, Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent, or having a MSc in these field demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in research before the incorporation date. Previous experience in thin film chalcogenide photovoltaic technologies, and especially in the synthesis, fabrication and advanced structural and electro-optic characterization of chalcogenide based solar cells prepared onto alternative substrates (steel, polymides but mainly onto ceramics) will be very well evaluated.
