Junior Project Manager

IREC is looking for a junior Project Manager for an EU-funded project.

The successful candidate will be associated to the Research Management Unit of IREC and will support and assist the principal investigator and the researchers focusing in the administrative and financial issues of the project.

Main funcions and responsabilities of the position:
• Project monitoring of the Use of resources. To check and monitor budget expenditure.
• Reporting project status at internal level, at consortium level and reporting to the funding authority.
• To act as administrative and financial contact of the project.
• To participate in data collection from partners, reviewing of written inputs and background documents
• To assist principal investigator and researchers monitoring the overall progress of the project including:
 Planification and follow up of the Use of Resources.
 Administrative and financial procedures.
 Monitoring project budget and expenditures.
 To assist in the preparation of detailed interim and final reports, as outlined in the projects' EC Grant Agreements
 Operationalisation and timing of all activities in the project
 Identification of any unanticipated risks
 Definition of contingency plans for problems-solving.
• Reporting project status to the head of department and participation in the anual co-relation of expenses/incomes.
Main requirements for this position:

 University Degree.
 Good level of English, Spanish and Catalan.
 Experience in MS Office tools, especially Excel.
 Some experience in project management, administration and accounting procedures.

 Experience in management tools.
 Experience in EU-funded projects and Knowledge of the European Research System.
 Experience in any other public Research System (Catalan, Spanish).

Gross salary in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy is expected to be around 27.000 Euros (depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience).
