R1 Project Engineer for Electric Vehicle Battery control development

The Power Systems Group announces a new opening as Junior Project Engineer to work on technical research projects in the fields of electric vehicles, microgrids and smart grids. The tasks to be carried out will be focused to the development of the control and communication board for a Battery Energy Management System of an EV. Additionally, experimental activities with micro grids including design and implementation of experimental set ups with IREC’s micro grid are expected.

Qualifications and experience required:

- Bachelor or Master in Industrial Electronics and Automatic Control, Electronics, Telecommunication, electrical engineering or similar.
- Experience with communications and automation systems.
- Experience with control boards (e.g. Raspberry pi, or others)

Knowledge of industrial/laboratory SCADA systems, experience in modelling, control, design or operation of power converters. Experience in modeling and simulation software (DigSilent, Matlab-Simulink or equivalent). Programming experience is a plus.

Language required:
Fluent in Spanish and English.

What we offer:
We offer 1 year contract, with potential extension. Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
