R1 Project engineer for LCA and LCC

Job Title: “Researcher for LCA and LCC for energy technologies

Description:
The Energy Systems Analytics Research Group is seeking for a Project Engineer to work in technical European Research Projects in the field of Life Cycle Assessment and economic assessment for energy technologies. The main tasks to be carried out will be focused on the LCA analysis of different energy technologies such as battery systems, renewable energies and advanced materials for energy. They include the preparation of specific questionnaires for inventory data collection to conduct the environmental model, calculations, interpretation and results reporting in the appropriate format.

In addition, the Project Engineer will give support in activities, such as:
- Follow up European projects
- Monitoring and preparation of technical documents
- Development of impact assessment methodologies
- Participation in the preparation of project proposals
- Preparation of scientific publications

This candidate must have properly education qualifications and, if possible, some experience in life cycle assessment (LCA), economic assessment (LCC), and proven knowledge in LCA software (GaBi and Ecoinvent database). All of this applied to the energy sector, energy storage systems for electric vehicles, renewable energies and advanced materials for energy.

Qualifications and experience required:
This candidate must have properly education qualifications and, if possible, some experience in life cycle assessment (LCA), economic assessment (LCC) applied to the energy sector, energy storage systems for electric vehicles, renewable energies and advanced materials for energy.

Essential:
- Bachelor or Master in the areas of Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Civil Engineering or Environmental Sciences related to LCA/LCC methodology
- LCA experience in the field of renewable energy systems, preferable energy storage systems and fuel cells
- Knowledge in LCA software (GaBi) and databases.

Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience in projects in the energy sector, especially in renewable energies, advance materials for energy, energy storage systems
- Good communication skills and highly skilled in planning and organizing

Language required:
Fluent in Spanish and English

Personal Skills:
- Capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team
- High flexibility and initiative and ability to innovate.
- Analytical and synthesis capabilities

Technical knowledge:
- Experience in LCA and LCA software and database (GaBi, Ecoinvent, …)

What we offer:
Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
