R1 PROJECT ENGINEER - RESCCUE PROJECT

Energy Efficiency: Systems, Buildings and Communities (ECOS) Area announces a position as Junior Researcher (R1). The candidate will work on a research funded by the EU H2020 programme called RESilience to cope with Climate Change in Urban arEas – a multisectorial approach focusing on water and electrical networks (RESCCUE). The candidate will work in the field of urban electrical distribution network resilience and its interaction with other sectors. The tasks to be carried out will be mainly focused on the design and development of the electrical network modeling, mitigation methods and interaction with other critical infrastructure in case of severe climate conditions.

This professional must be highly skilled in electrical networks, smart grids and modeling tools. Capacity to work in a team, flexible, innovative, with initiative and problem solving skills would be valuable. High level of analytical and synthesis skills would be beneficial.

Qualifications and experience required:
Essential:
- Master in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, energy engineering or equivalent.

- Proven knowledge of:
o Energy sector
o Renewable energy sources
o Electrical networks
o Data Analytics
o Modelling

Advantageous: knowledge and experience with simulation software as Matlab, DigSilent PowerFactory or PSSE.

Language required:
- Good communications skills in English are mandatory.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan will be beneficial.

- Team Worker.
- Initiative and interest in Research and Innovation.
- Flexibility.
- Results-oriented.
- Analytical and synthesis capabilities.

Salary:
Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
