The Solar Energy Materials and Systems Group (SEMS) announce a postdoctoral position in the frame of the SEMS Project, in the research line of:

Spray pyrolysis based processes for development and demonstration of transparent back contacts for thin film PV kesterite cost efficient technologies

The candidate will carry out a multidisciplinary scientific activity centered in the adaptation and demonstration of spray pyrolysis processes for the growth of TCO layers suitable for transparent back contacts for PV applications. This will include the design and demonstration of suitable TCO based contact configurations for optimization of device efficiency in kesterite based solar cell devices. These will be based on the implementation of nanometric transition metals, metal oxides and metal chalcogenides at the back contact/absorber interface

The candidate will work in the frame of the SEMS project for the demonstration of the feasibility of the spray pyrolysis processes for cost- efficient kesterite based solutions, developing and demonstrating device configurations compatible with bifacial and semitransparent operational devices. The candidate will be in charge of the adaptation of the spray pyrolysis reactor  at IREC for the proposed applications, and will be also actively involved in the design and development of the back contact configurations and in the fabrication and advanced characterization of kesterite device prototypes.

Requisites: the candidates need to be in position of the doctoral degree in Physic, Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent, before the incorporation date. Previous experience in spray pyrolysis processes, thin film kesterite based photovoltaic technologies and specially in design and development of optimal device back contacts will be very well evaluated.
