Call for applications: laboratory technician (Chemistry profile)

The Energy Storage group and the Advanced Materials for Energy Area of IREC, announces a position as a laboratory technician of the Energy Storage group (chemical energy storage activities). The contract will be funded by COSIN Ris3Cat project (COMRDI15-1-0037)

Job function:
– Laboratory maintenance, reposition and control of goods.
– Document and database management. Elaboration of “Standard Operating Procedures”
– Support the right performance of security systems, and Health and Safety.
– Support managing gas system, cryogenics and deionized water system.
– To support and participate in the technical coordination committee of the area made by laboratory technicians.
– Maintenance and calibration of main equipments: BET, Chemisorption, FT-IR/Drifts-ATR, GC, TOC, HPLC,UV-vis….
– Implementation of new setups, prototypes and equipment. Reaction monitoring. Give technical support to the experimental setups especially for new researchers.
– Assistance and managing internal and external users of laboratory infrastructure. Functional testing and results reporting.

Candidate must have a Bachellor or Doctorate degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or equivalent. Previous experience in laboratory techniques, work in scientific or technological environment will be considered.  Good verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
