The group of Solar Energy Materials and Systems (SEMS) from the area of Advanced Materials for Energy announces a predoctoral position for a highly motivated candidate to work in the field of:


STARCELL project aims to develop earth abundant elements based thin film photovoltaic technologies. The candidate will carry out a multidisciplinary activity in the frame of this H2020 Project with the final aim to develop specific processes for high efficiency kesterite based solar cells..

Requirements: Candidates must hold/have a Master degree (or being in the final stage of the studies) in Materials Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or equivalent, and hold previous experience in research activities, preferentially in the field of thin film chalcogenide based devices (Cu(In,Ga)Se2, Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4, SnS, Cu2SnS3, etc…). Knowledge of the processing of high efficiency solar cells with these materials, as well as advanced characterization techniques will be positively assessed. High level of English and very good communication and writing skills are required.
