Energy Efficiency: Systems, Buildings and Communities (ECOS) research Area announces a position as Project Engineer (R2) in the field of electrical engineering. The candidate will work on  research collaborative and industrial projects in the field of electrical engineering systems for renewable and electric mobility integration, smart grids and energy markets. The tasks to be carried out will be mainly focused to the design and implementation of experimental set-ups at IREC’s micro-grid, modeling and simulation studies of new developments in the fields of application and development of new market agents within the energy markets and the smart grids.

This professional must be highly skilled in electrical engineering and networks, smart grids and modeling tools. Capacity to work in a team, flexible, innovative, with initiative and problem solving skills would be valuable. High level of analytical and synthesis skills would be beneficial.

Qualifications and experience required:
- Master in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, energy engineering or equivalent.

- Proven experience in:
o Energy sector and markets, preferably on design of new market agents
o Integration of renewable energy sources and/or electric mobility and/or energy storage systems
o Electrical engineering and networks
o Electrical modelling and simulation tools (Matlab, DigSilent Power Factory, PSSE or equivalent)
o Collaborative research projects in collaboration with industry and research centers

- Proven laboratory experience (design and/or operation) in the fields of application
- Knowledge on optimization techniques applied to electrical grids
- Knowledge and experience of controls and communication systems
- Experience with energy data analytics.
- Experience in preparation of H2020 (or similar) proposals and development of collaborative projects.
- Experience in research and technological centers.

Language required:
- Good communications skills in English, Catalan and Spanish are mandatory.

Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
