Call for applications: R2 consolidated researcher. Position in synthetic fuels

The Energy Storage, harvesting and catalysis group at the Advanced Materials for Energy Area of IREC, announces a tenure track position for an R2 consolidated researcher available for a highly motivated candidate to work in the field of synthetic fuel production.

We are looking for a candidate to cover activities in chemical energy storage and CO2 valorization. Therefore, candidate with expertise and skills on several of the following activities are within the scope of the position:
- Developing materials, components and systems based on thermo-conversion processes. Expertise and skills on heterogeneous catalyst will be welcome, in particular, on CO2 or CO hydrogenation to gaseous or liquid products.
- Developing strategies for upscaling innovative reactor technologies and pilot plant with skills on simulation tools both at process level and physico-chemical model (ASPEN, COMSOL, ANSYS,…)
- Conducting techno-economical assessments to evaluate feasible scenarios for synthetic fuel projects.
- Leading and Writing projects and technical reports.
- Promoting and participating in the scientific and technological outputs of the group.

Proved experience in the following aspects will be positively evaluated:
- Mentoring and team leading (phD thesis, master/bachelor thesis)
- Participation or leading technology transfer activities and innovation actions
- Funding searching
- Internationalization
- Involvement in industrial projects, demonstrators and pilot plants.

- Duration of the contract: 1 year, with possible extension according the annual evaluation of the objective defined in the approved research plan and centre needs.
