Projects - Thermal Energy and Building Performance

  • SmartReFlex: The SmartReFlex project aims at increasing the diffusion of smart and flexible district heating and cooling (DHC) systems, basing on high shares of renewable energy sources (RES), in European cities. Six regional authorities from Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain, with the help of consultancy and research partners and of an expert coaching by Denmark, will implement legislative and organizational solutions for fostering the use of high shares of renewable energy sources in both new and existing district heating grids.
  • MicroTIC: The main objective of the MicroTIC project is to be able to define the technical and business model bases of a micro ICT solution, innovative and energy efficient for SMEs, the implementation of which will increase their competitiveness by improving their ICT infrastructure and at the same time reducing their expenditure energy, with the intention of developing a solution in a next phase of implementation. One of the most important technical challenges is to obtain an integral, scalable and mobile solution that can accompany the SME in its growth as a company and its future ICT demands, both in capacity and location. MicroTIC project it is co-financed by ACCIÓ and the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
  • Republic_ZEB: The project’s main objectives are to support the participant countries to develop and promote on the market a set of concrete technical solutions for the refurbishment of the public building stock toward nZEB, by increasing the involved key actors’ confidence on nZEB and to take concrete steps to accelerate the existing public building renovations.
  • RenewIT: Advanced concepts and tools for renewable energy supply of IT Data Centres
  • HP + solar cooling: To analyse and optimize an HVAC system that integrates solar thermal energy, reversible heat pumps, and an absorption system.
  • HYBRID SOLAR BIOMASS: Feasibility study of a hybrid solar power plant with biomass.
  • FRUITCENTER: Study to promote measures of energy efficiency at the FRUITCENTER building.
  • MARIE: To establish the technical, economic and social fundamentals for energy efficiency improvement in the Mediterranean Buildings Stock in the framework of the EU policies, programs and standards.
  • CoolEmAll: The main goal of CoolEmAll is to provide advanced planning and optimization tools for modular data centre environments and taking into account Energy Efficiency.
  • KIC Industria: The aim of the project is to improve and to innovate in technological and business solutions that can be applied horizontally to several industrial sectors.
  • Green@Hospital: The GREEN@Hospital project aims at integrating the latest ICT solutions in order to obtain a significant energy saving in existing hospital buildings, through a better management of energy resources and losses reduction.
  • AIDA: The AIDA project aims to accelerate the market entry of nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEB). This means energy efficient buildings and the use of renewable energy sources. AIDA offers actions tailored to suit each of the project's target groups including study tours, operational success stories, presentation of existing tools, active support for municipalities and close cooperation with key actors.
  • KIC MTT: Development and testing of Micro 3 kWe micro CHP system based on a very small gas turbine, the product is aimed at the domestic market. Micro CHP concept will be developed towards pre-commercial units and will be lab-tested and field-tested. This aims to demonstrate that the base technology is working and that the concept is technically feasible.
