The Solar Energy Materials and Systems group, belonging to the Advanced Materials for Energy area, is announcing an experimented researcher position, in the framework of the FOTOSENS Project, in the research line of:
 
DEVELOPMENT AND CHARACTERISATION OF THIN FILM CHALCOGENIDE SOLAR CELLS

The candidate will carry out a multidisciplinary scientific activity centred on the development and characterization of absorbers and photovoltaic devices based on thin film chalcogenides. This will include the preparation of PVD back contact and precursor layers on different kinds of substrates (including glass and polyimide), and the fabrication/characterization of solar cells made with absorbers prepared from different routes.

The candidate will work in the frame of the FOTOSENS Project, and will be at the forefront of the photovoltaic device and prototype fabrication/characterization from absorbers prepared using novel printing and laser-annealed techniques implemented at the different consortium groups. The candidate will have a strong interaction with the different partners of the project.


Requisites: the candidates must have a the Bachelor and Master degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent, before the incorporation date, and demonstrable previous research experience in thin film chalcogenide technologies, with a strong focus on the fabrication/characterization of solar devices, and knowledge on the use of different processing equipment (sputtering, evaporator, furnaces) and characterization tools (XRF, XRD, SEM, solar simulator, spectral response). Previous experience on the development of chalcogenide solar cells (including chalcopyrite and kesterite based devices) on different kinds of substrates suitable for device integration in different kinds of elements and systems (as steel, polyimide and ceramic based substrates) will be well evaluated. .
