R1 Project Engineer for Smart Grid Monitoring

JOB DESCRIPTION

Power Systems group announces opening of a new position as Junior Project Engineer (R1). The candidate will work on a research project in the framework of the RIS3CAT Energy Community called New automation technologies for the Electrical Network (NAenCAT). The candidate will work in the fields of automation and monitoring of distribution grids. The tasks to be carried out will focus on the implementation of estimation algorithms into other power system monitoring software or tools.

Qualifications and experience required:

Essential:
- Bachelor or Master in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or other related studies.

- Skills are required for the following:
o Electrical networks
o Modelling
o Programming

The knowledge and experience with:
- Software as Matlab, OpenDSS or DigSilent PowerFactory is preferred.
- Electrical Metering equipment is a surplus

Language required:
- Fluent in Catalan and/or Spanish. Good communications skills in English are preferred.

Personal Skills:
- Team Worker.
- Initiative and interest in Research and Innovation.
- Flexibility.
- Results-oriented.
- Analytical and synthesis capabilities.

What we offer:
We offer 1 year contract, with potential extension. Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
