Biography
Miguel Cruz is Industrial Engineer (2008), specialized in Thermoenergetics, from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), and holds a Master Degree in Economics and Regulation (2009), specialized in Energy, from the University of Barcelona (UB). He worked at the Center of Technological Innovation in Static Converters and Drives (CITCEA-UPC) as projects engineer from 2006 to 2008, and in 2008 received a scholarship to work at the National Energy Commission (CNE). In 2009 and to the actuality, he enrolled “Catalonia Institute for Energy Research” in the Electrical Engineering Area.
His work largely focuses on energy economics and energy efficiency through technical economic analysis. Nowadays he is working in several projects related with electric transportation like VERDE, a project promoted by the Spanish Ministry. Also, he works in the field of Smart Grids and Microgrids, were ha has collaborated in several projects like Smart City or DER-IREC22@. Also he has experience in the energy policy field, were he has participated in several projects like the deployment of Lift’s Energy Efficiency Program of the Catalonia’s Government (2008), or the Catalan Strategy for Electric Vehicle Promotion (2010).
