Biography
Albert Ruiz Álvarez received the degree in industrial engineering from the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (ETSEIB), Universitat Poltècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He obtained distinction in his Electrical Final Dissertation entitled: “Design and implementation of a device for power transformers monitoring”, in December 2009. While studying at the university, he collaborated with the Centre for Technological Innovation in Static Converters and Drives (CITCEA-UPC). In this centre, which has expertise in the mechatronics and enertronics fields, he participated in power electronics and digital control projects. In September 2009, he started studying Computer Science at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). In May 2009, he became a member of the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC), in the Power Electronics and Electrical Power Grids research area, where he works as a Project Engineer.
