Biography
Lazaro Marco obtained his Master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering on November 2004 at "Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya" (UPC, Barcelona, Spain), along with the Master's degree in Electronic Engineering.
In September 2010 he obtained the Electronic Engineering PhD degree with Cum Laude. While conducting the PhD research at UPC, he joined the Colorado Power Electronics Center at the University of Colorado (Boulder, USA) in three different occasions, interacting with different projects and joining the CoPEC Annual Meetings.
He has been involved in High Efficiency Energy processing since 2005. His background both in telecom and electronics allowed him to implement full transmitter models for "high efficiency RF amplifiers for +3G applications" which combine system effects (EVM/mask compliance) with circuit parameters and performance (efficiency) estimation, further developed during the PhD research project. Its most important contribution has been considering the impact of the device level non-idealities upon the overall system performance. For that, a high level simulation was used, along with low-level details modeling in a translayer approach.
During the PhD, he worked as a substitute teacher of the EPIC laboratory for the MERIT Master, and he worked as a hardware engineer on Urbiotica S.L., focusing in power management and analog design areas at full depth, from concept to final design.
Since November 2010, as a project engineer in IREC, he is developing control methods for a multi mega-watt off-shore wind turbine equipped with synchronous generator.
In his continuous goal of increasing his knowledge about different areas, in 2010 he was hired as a punctual contributor to ComparativaDeBancos, a web about finance and personal money management.
