Biography
Cristina Corchero obtained her bachelor’s (2002) and master’s (2004) degree in Statistics at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. During her studies, she started her research activity at the Statistics and Operations Research Department (UPC, Barcelona, Spain) thanks to a 1-year scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education. In 2004 ¬she joined the Energy section of the Group of Numerical Optimization and Modelling (GNOM, UPC) as full-time researcher. In 2006 she obtained a pre-doctoral scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education and in 2011 she obtained her PhD in Statistics and Operations Research with European Mention at the UPC. During the PhD, she carried-out a research stay at the Università degli studi di Bergamo (Italy). After the PhD, she got a post-doctoral contract with the GNOM (UPC). She has participated in 3 research projects from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education. Beside the research activity, since 2005 she worked as freelance statistician consultant collaborating with public entities and private companies.
