Professor Joan Ramón Morante to take part in the international E-MRS 2012 Spring Meeting

Professor Joan Ramon Morante, head of the IREC’s Advanced Materials for Energy Area, will give a symposium called "New nanomaterial processes and fabrication methods for emerging low cost devices" at the international E-MRS 2012 Spring meeting.

The IREC to organise a course on EINSTEIN

The Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) is to organise a training course on how to conduct thermal energy audits in the industrial sector using the EINSTEIN software tool.

The tool, available at (http://www.einstein-energy.net/), makes it possible to conduct high-quality thermal energy audits, based on standard models of industrial processes. Using the tool, consumption data are introduced semi-automatically and possible alternatives for reducing the consumption of thermal energy incorporated. A standard audit report is then obtained from the automatic calculations made and the dynamic simulation of the heat supply systems.

Dr Jaume Salom, the IREC’s group leader for Thermal Energy and Building Performance to take part in the Near Zero-Energy Buildings Congress

Dr Salom will give a conference called “Zero-Energy Buildings: definitions and interactions with power grids” in the framework of the first Near Zero-Energy Buildings Congress, which is to be held in Madrid on 7 and 8 May.
