New devices developed using ceramic nanowires

detectors d'humitatDr. Francisco Hernández, a researcher with the IREC’s Advanced Materials for Energy Area, has developed humidity detectors in collaboration with researchers from the Jozef Stefan Institute in Slovenia. The detectors, which are made of barium oxide, have shown the potential for developing new devices based on ceramic nanomaterials. In addition to its practical applications, this system will enable us to make advances in our knowledge about phenomena involving electrical transport and interactions in nanoscale systems. The research has been published in the journal Nanotechnology and was featured as one of the journal’s highlights.
