The 3DPASSION project addresses a new generation of high-performance power generation and energy storage devices fabricated by novel ceramic 3D processing techniques. 3DPASSION combines emerging 3D manufacturing technologies with advanced materials to fabricate high power density solid state energy conversion devices such as Solid Oxide Fuel and Electrolysis Cells (SOFC/SOEC) and All Solid State Li-metal Batteries (ASSB).

3DPASSION is the coordinated project led by Albert Tarancón, ICREA Professor and head of Nanoionics and Fuel Cells at IREC, and is divided into 3 different subprojects:

3D-PASSION is a national R+D+i project under the “retos investigación”. The grant for these research projects include oriented investigations as well as their applications in later phases of technological development and experimentation. It will last for 3 years from 2020 until 2022. It is aimed at solving one of the 8 great societal challenges described in the “Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación” 2017-2020: clean, efficient and safe energy.

The project is cofinanced by  the European Union through the European Regional Development fund (ERDF) and with the support of Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (MICIU) and the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI).
