An IREC researcher wins the Young Energy Efficiency Researcher Award

Today, Antoni Bosch has been given the “Best Researcher Award” at the Young Energy Efficiency conference within the World Sustainable Energy Days 2024 (WSED), which is taking place between 5th to 8th March , 2024 in Wels (Upper Austria). The Award ceremony took place this morning.

The WSED is a leading conference on the energy transition and climate neutrality, which offers 6 dedicated conferences, including the European Energy Efficiency Policy Conference, the European Pellet Conference, the Industrial Energy Efficiency Conference and the Smart E-Mobility Conference. WSED shows how to realize the high policy ambitions required for the energy transition and how to strengthen the clean energy markets.


Antoni Bosch has won the award for the research undertaken during his Master thesis in the Energy Systems Analytics group at IREC, entitled “Management of electric vehicles to provide energy flexibility under uncertainty” . The work is centered on the management of electric vehicle charging to provide demand side flexibility and co-authored by Lucía Igualada and Ferran Pinsach. Roger Valdés, another IREC researcher in the same group, also presented a poster in the same session, entitled “Modelling study on the role of energy communities in the energy transition”.
