Enric Grau from IREC awarded the E-MRS Young Researcher Awards

  • Energy and environment

The European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) Young Researcher Awards (YRA) are intended to honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and current materials research display a high level of excellence and distinction. E-MRS seeks to recognize students of exceptional ability who show promise for significant future achievement in materials research.

Enric Tomas Grau Luque, a PhD student undertaking a research in the Solar Energy Materials and Systems group at IREC, has received one Young Scientist Award. His research focuses on machine learning and combinatorial analysis applied to advanced characterization of thin-film materials. The goal is to further explore these complex materials with complex methodologies to further understand their behavior and failure mechanisms to enable improvements in their performance.

This award recognizes the outstanding oral presentation entitled “Machine learning approach for combinatorial spectroscopic based characterization: analysis of defect formation in Cu2ZnGeSe4 thin films based solar cells induced by off-stoichiometry” presented at the E-MRS Spring Meeting 2021.

The awards are presented at the online closing & awards ceremony on Thursday June the 3rd. The prize consists of a cash prize accompanied with a diploma. More information at: https://www.european-mrs.com/graduate-student-awards-2

Congratulations to Enric!
