nZEB course 2021- Material is now available!

  • Smart energy management

ICAENIRECLeitatEurecatCIMNE and CEEC have organized the 7th edition course about nearly zero energy buildings (nZEB). The sessions were held online and recorded, so that the material is now available to all citizens.

New buildings must be near-zero energy buildings from 31 December 2020, in accordance with European Directive 2010/31 / EU relative to the energy efficiency of buildings. In the case of public buildings, the obligation is even earlier: by December 31st, 2018. These buildings have a high level of energy efficiency, and the almost zero or very low amount of energy required must be largely covered by renewable energy.

The aim of the course is to provide technicians in the sector with the necessary tools to be able to contribute to the compliance with European regulationsbuilding and refurbishing buildings so that they are highly energy efficient.

Professionals in the construction sector (architects, engineers, the administration and companies) all have a fundamental role to play in the transformation of the building sector. They all need to get involved in the key piece of this change: the citizens.

Thibault Pean, Soledad Ibañez and Jordi Pascual are the researchers from the Thermal Energy and Building Performance group at IREC directly involved in the organization of the course, all of them are experts in energy efficiency in buildings, and how to refurbish old buildings to achieve this goal. José Luis Domínguez, head of the Power Systems group, was involved as an expert in integration of renewables and Smart Grids.
