Batteries have been with us for decades although invisible to most of the population. They hide in portable radios, flashlights, toys, personal computers, and smartphones. Now, two major industrial sectors, energy and transport, are also involved, and this has boosted research, development and integration systems related to batteries worldwide.
ACCIÓ has carried out a technological report on batteries in Catalonia in order to create knowledge about the topic, what are the implication and how it can impact the day-to-day life of the different sectors of the economy.
The study also includes global data, trends, associated technologies and the Catalan ecosystem. The study was presented in a recent event on March the 24th, 2022, involving international experts in batteries (Johan Söderbom from the European Battery Alliance, and Joan Ramon Morante from IREC presenting Battech) and Catalan companies (Millor Battery and Silence Urban Ecomobility).
The report can be downloaded from this link (in Catalan).
