DIGIBAT is a public-private partnership that stands for “Development of a Hybrid Battery System Digital Twin for Advanced Monitoring and Management of its Performance and State-of-Health“.
The main objective of DIGIBAT project is the design and development of advanced digital tools (digital twins) for the characterization and prediction of complex battery systems, enabling accurate estimation of battery status and improved management strategies through the integration of novel sensor networks and artificial intelligence algorithms, to optimize its performance in stationary and electric mobility applications.
The project has a total budget above 600k€ and will run for 3 years, starting from November 2023. The consortium is formed by NVISION (leader), IREC and PREMIUM S.A.
Lluis Trilla from the Power Systems group at IREC is involved in advanced modelling and estimation algorithm development to optimise battery system operation. Power converter design will also be undergone by IREC.
