EUCLID

Project: Euro-med working Community for green Living areas’ Institutional Dialogue (EUCLID)
Funding: Interreg Euro-MED (European Union)
IREC Role: Partner
Main IREC Group: Thermal Energy and Building Performance, Jordi Pascual

The EUCLID project aims to implement a sustainable Euro-Mediterranean Green Living Areas’ Institutional Dialogue Association, involving Euro-Mediterranean regional/national/international stakeholders, which will establish and ensure an ongoing reuse, transfer and long-term coordination of selected public initiatives, policies and strategies for a better Mediterranean governance. The goal is to have at least 170 entities engaged in this Association before the project’s end, to ensure its durability.

The project has a total budget of 4M€ and will run for almost 7 years. The consortium is formed by 9 European partners including Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis / Euromed Cities Network (France) (leader), IREC (Spain), University of Patras (Greece), Polis Network (Belgium), North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency (Croatia), Regional Agency for Infrastructure Development, Building Renovation and Energy of Liguria (Italy), Larnaca and Famagusta Districts Development Agency (Cyprus), Lisboa E-Nova – Energy and Environment Agency of Lisbon (Portugal) and Albanian Agency for Energy Efficiency (Albania).

IREC, WP leader, will hold an important role in EUCLID, notably by supporting the mainstreaming of the parallel on-going initiatives and outcomes and connecting the target stakeholders to share initiatives and promote specific strategies and policies to implement and monitor green living areas. IREC will also coordinate all the arborescence activities, the internal /external communication and the coordination with TCP and JS. These activities are led by Jordi Pascual from the Thermal Energy and Building Performance group at IREC.

This project is co-funded by the European Union and has received the UfM label.
