Abstract

HyProlyzer Project aims to validate a 100 cm2-prototype for H2 production, consisting an electrolyzer connected to an advanced Silicon-Perovskite solar cells arrangement and working under bias free conditions at 15 mA/cm2. The electrodes for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions will be developed using inexpensive non-toxic, and made of Earth-abundant elements materials and highly active area. The design of the final electrolyzer prototype will be carried out upon the previous study of the optimal configuration and conditions for maximizing the efficiency together with a scalability study. The adequate solar cell arrangement will be studied for reaching the desired power. The project will have a high impact as hydrogen production technology is needed for the energy transition towards zero-carbon emissions with important breakthroughs in the hydrogen economy.
