Project: RyC 2021 (Jordi Jacas)
Funding: MCIN/AEI/EU “NextGenerationEU/PRTR”
Project ID: RYC2021-034994-I
IREC Role: Coordinator
Main IREC Group: Energy Storage, Harvesting and Catalysis, Jordi Jacas

Jordi Jacas, from the Energy Storage, Harvesting and Catalysis group, receives a Ramon y Cajal fellowship (RyC 2021), whose contract begins on January 2023 with a research line entitled “New materials and optimised interfaces for high energy density battery cells”, in the thematic area of materials science and technology (general category). The goal of the project is to establish valuable synthesis-structure-properties correlations in high (specific) energy materials, focusing on new in-situ characterisation techniques to improve the electrochemical performance of next-generation battery cells.

The purpose of these fellowships is to promote the incorporation of research personnel, from Spain or abroad, with an outstanding track record, in Spanish R&D centers, to acquire the skills and abilities to obtain a stable position in a research body of the Spanish System of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The selection is based on a rigorous process of competitive concurrence based on their curricular merits and based on their ability to lead a line of research, on scientific and professional experience, as well as the independence of their career.

The duration of the fellowship is 5 years.
