Green Hydrogen: Uses, Barriers and Opportunities for this Energy Vector
Hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the universe and is essential for life. However, this element is not to be found in a pure state. Thus, in order to be used, it must first be obtained, and this process requires energy. When this energy comes from renewable sources, it implies the well known green hydrogen. Could this simple element be the key to solving a problem as complex as the reduction of GHG emissions and the decarbonization of our economy? In which sectors will it play an important role, and in which sectors will more efficient alternatives prevail? In short, is the hype about green hydrogen justified?
